July 2000: SKYCHIEF was born out of the seemingly non-existent music scene in Akron.  Revue

magazine quotes, “While SKYCHIEF is rock and roll they also tend to bleed into both punk and even

some hard rock circa 1972. The performance is high energy with two raging guitars and pounding

drums and bass.”

Currently, SKYCHIEF just released several singles off their second full-length CD titled, “AutoExciter”,

available from our merch store.  This fall, they’ll be back at it working on their 3rd release, slated for

sometime in the near future.  When SKYCHIEF isn’t recording, they are playing shows in the regional

area and around town.  They have performed in Cleveland, Akron, Kent, Chicago and have also

performed at LoveMuffinPalooza, Undercurrents & The Cleveland Music Fest, regional music

showcase's held in Cleveland, OH.

SKYCHIEF is Taffi (Guitar & Vocals), Disco Steve (Guitar & Vocals), Ric Nimrod (Bass) and last but

most definitely not least, Smitty (heavy-hitting drummer).  These guys have been around the scene for

awhile, playing in such bands as the legendary Albino Tree Frogs, The Nimrods, First Offense and

The Rain Dogs.
